CATL launches EV battery brand for commercial applications – CATL TIANXING
CATL unveiled CATL TIANXING, its first EV battery brand for commercial applications, along with two products for light commercial vehicles: CATL TIANXING-L superfast charging edition and CATL TIANXING-L long range edition. The company reports that these can achieve 4C superfast charging and a maximum range of 500 kilometers respectively.
CATL says that slow energy recharging, high cost of ownership, and short transport mileage are the main challenges faced by the new energy commercial vehicle industry. To address these issues, CATL has promoted four advanced technologies – super safety, super-fast charging, super-long service life, and super-long range in this sector. The development of CATL TIANXING aims to meet the needs of commercial vehicle users regarding long battery service life, high efficiency, and profitability.
Safety is crucial for commercial vehicle operations. By adopting no thermal propagation technology and aircraft-level thermal insulation materials at the battery cell level, CATL reports that their product ensures a high level of safe application.
Regarding energy recharging capabilities, CATL’s super-fast charging technology has been widely applied across various product systems due to significant technological improvements. The launch allows users to experience reduced charging times which boosts operational efficiency.
The company states that by using low-lithium consumption graphite and biomimetic self-repairing SEI passivation film technology in their batteries they achieve 4C super-fast charging while doubling battery cycle life—enhancing reliability throughout its lifecycle.
CATL TIANXING batteries incorporate CTP (Cell to Pack) 3.0 technology with an optimized topological structure enhancing grouping efficiency significantly. Additionally implemented dual-layer large-surface liquid cooling improves both energy density performance as well as reducing overall weight dramatically improving range performance too.
